STR guests must use off-street parking where required by local code. Most Nassau towns limit on-street overnight parking and many villages require all guest vehicles to be parked in the driveway.
Village codes (Garden City, Rockville Centre, Great Neck, Manhasset) restrict overnight on-street parking 2 AM-6 AM. Town of Hempstead allows on-street parking with exceptions. STR hosts should provide guests with written parking instructions. RVs and commercial vehicles prohibited from residential streets overnight in most jurisdictions.
Overnight parking violations: $25-$100 tickets. Repeated guest violations may jeopardize STR registration where one exists.
