Glen Cove banned all short-term rentals (under 28 days) citywide by adopting Section 280-45.3 in August 2023. Operating a short-term rental violates Chapter 280 and the city's general penalty clause. Penalties under § 1-15 can reach $1,000 and/or 15 days per offense, and each day is a separate violation. Code Enforcement may also seek injunctive relief and prosecute the property owner.
