Sarasota County has no short-term-rental parking ordinance. Rentals follow the same residential off-street parking and no-street-obstruction rules as any home. A future registration program could add 'parking arrangements.'
Unincorporated Sarasota County does not impose short-term-rental-specific parking requirements. Guests are subject to the general residential parking standards in the UDC and the county's traffic and right-of-way rules (no blocking sidewalks, fire lanes, or travel lanes; parking on approved surfaces). The proposed STR registration program directed for study in April 2026 lists 'parking arrangements' as a possible added requirement, but none is in effect. On the barrier islands and in RMF districts where STR is permitted, on-site parking must still satisfy the district's minimum off-street parking ratios.
Illegally parked guest vehicles are cited under general county parking/right-of-way enforcement; no separate STR parking fine exists yet.
