Operators obtain a state HOT permit through Form AP-102 at comptroller.texas.gov. No county registration, inspection, or posting requirement exists in unincorporated areas. City registrations: Plano annual renewal with fire inspection, McKinney zoning-based permit, Frisco restrictive zoning. All STR operators must display TX Comptroller taxpayer number on listings.
