Full Breakdown

Under County Code § 5.76.070(B)(1), a sidewalk vendor's conveyance may not reduce sidewalk or pedestrian-path clearance below 48 inches, and may not be set up within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, fire escape, pedestrian crossing signal, bus stop, driveway, or accessible curb ramp, within 5 feet of a curb edge, within 8 feet of the pavement edge, or within any roadway or median. Slopes over 5 percent are also off-limits. The rule applies only to sidewalk vendors in unincorporated Riverside County, not the 28 incorporated cities such as Riverside, Temecula, or Palm Springs, which set their own rules.
