Under Sec. 39-241 of the Broward County Zoning Code, residents in unincorporated Broward may hold up to two yard sales per calendar year, each running up to three consecutive days, and post signs advertising them. Signs are capped at two square feet and are exempt from permit requirements, but they cannot be displayed more than one day before the sale starts and must be taken down once the sale ends. Sec. 39-2 limits the entire Zoning Code to the unincorporated area, so this exemption does not extend into Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Coral Springs, or Broward's other incorporated cities, each of which sets its own sign standards.
