Okaloosa County, FL Sign Regulations: Garage Sale Signs (2026)

Okaloosa County's sign code allows temporary signs advertising short-term events, the category that covers garage and yard sales, without singling them out. A temporary sign may not be installed more than seven days before the event and must be removed within five days after it ends. No portion of any sign may be closer than ten feet to the right-of-way or property line, and signs stapled to utility poles, trees, or placed on public property are prohibited snipe signs subject to removal. Get the property owner's permission before posting any off-site directional signs. Destin, Fort Walton Beach, and HOAs may set their own limits.
