12. Subsection (B) makes it unlawful for any peddler or solicitor to engage or attempt to engage in peddling at any home, residence, apartment complex or business that prominently displays a "No Peddlers" or "No Solicitors" sign, or any similar sign communicating the occupant's wish not to be contacted by peddlers; the resident does not need to post the exact wording, any sign that communicates that message suffices. m. m. within one mile of the official fireworks display to the fireworks viewing area designated by the chief of police at the Civic Center playfield, for crowd and traffic control.
Violations & Fines
Peddling at a residence or business posting a no-solicitation sign, or soliciting outside the 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. window, violates ECC 4.12.065 and is a misdemeanor under ECC 4.12.100, punishable by a fine of up to $250, imprisonment up to nine months, or both, with each day a separate offense.
