030(f), to hold a Mendocino County Itinerant Business Permit issued by the Sheriff, separate from and in addition to the Tax Collector's business license. The Chapter recognizes two permit types: Door-to-Door and Roadside Vendor. Applicants submit a full-face photograph and LiveScan fingerprints for a criminal history check through the California Department of Justice and, where relevant, the FBI; the Sheriff may issue a conditional permit valid for up to thirty calendar days while that clearance is pending. 080(d) disqualifies anyone convicted of a violent felony under Penal Code Part 1, Titles 8, 9, or 13, anyone still on probation or parole for such a conviction, or anyone who knowingly makes a false statement on the application.

A completed application must include the applicant's name, address, phone number, date of birth, physical description, driver's license number, the type of business, all owners' names and addresses, a description of any vehicle used, the home office address, the number of associates accompanying the applicant, and the period the applicant expects to work in the county. A regular permit runs one year from issuance unless revoked, and renewal in later years requires only updated information and photographs. 090(a), though they still must apply and pass the same disqualification screening.
