01 makes it unlawful to canvass, peddle or solicit door to door in unincorporated Madison County for money, merchandise or service orders, or advertising without a license from the County Clerk, and it separately requires every salesperson, officer, agent, employee or representative of a soliciting organization to hold an individual license rather than relying on one issued to the group. 02 the application must list the applicant's name, address and phone number, the headquarters contact information of any organization represented, the names and contacts of its principal officers or partners, the purpose of the canvassing or soliciting, and a statement that the license is not a county endorsement; submitting a misleading or untrue application is itself a separate violation.

03 directs the County Clerk to issue a nontransferable license valid for one year from issuance, with a new application required before expiration to stay licensed. 04 requires the licensee to carry the license while soliciting and to produce it on request of the county license investigator or any law enforcement officer. 05 bars representing the license as a county endorsement. 06: a household may post a weatherproof three-by-four-inch card reading "NO SOLICITORS INVITED" near the main entrance, and that posted notice is legally sufficient to bar solicitors from the property. 07 exempts canvassing by county residents for a recognized charitable organization and religious or political organization activity, except when merchandise is actually being sold.
