Full Breakdown

County Code § 10.45.020 defines a covered special event to include block parties that could interfere with normal street use. Under § 10.45.040, no one may conduct, manage or sponsor such an event in a public street or right-of-way under county jurisdiction without first obtaining a permit from the Traffic Engineering Division. Applications must be filed at least 90 calendar days before the event under § 10.45.050. This applies only outside Tucson, Marana, Oro Valley, Sahuarita and South Tucson, which issue their own permits.

Violations & Fines

Violation of the ordinance or permit terms is a petty offense carrying a $300 fine per person per violation under A.R.S. § 13-802(D), and grounds for immediate permit revocation.
