Burlington County, NJ Special Events & Permits: Park Event Permits (2026)

Rule 7 of the Burlington County Parks System Rules and Regulations, under the heading 'Group Use. Facility Rental. Meetings. Exhibitions. Permits,' states that certain Parks System facilities and areas may be reserved for private group use in accordance with the County's Facility Use Policies, pointing specifically to Appendix A, the Burlington County Fairgrounds Facility Use Policies, and Appendix B, the Events at County Parks Facilities Facility Use Policies. Those two appendices, not the numbered rules themselves, carry the actual reservation procedure, fees and rental terms for a given facility, so a group planning a wedding, festival, meeting or exhibition on County park land works through whichever appendix covers the property it wants, the Fairgrounds versus a park facility elsewhere in the system.

Rule 3 backs that reservation system with a County fee schedule, 'User Fees - Schedule 1,' which the Board can adopt and change at its discretion. Two related numbered rules constrain what a reserved event can do even once approved: Rule 13 bars any public address or loudspeaker system without written permission from the Board, so amplified sound at an event needs its own sign-off beyond the facility reservation, and Rule 12 requires written Board permission before posting signs, distributing advertisements, or running any commercial activity connected to the gathering.

Rule 1 gives the Board discretion to modify or waive any Parks System rule, which can extend to event-specific conditions. A group that uses a facility without going through the Facility Use Policies, or that violates the posted conditions of an approved reservation, is subject to the same general enforcement as any other rule violation: removal under Rule 36, treatment as a disorderly person under Rule 37, and prosecution as a defiant trespasser under Rule 38 for continued refusal to leave.
