FL Β§515.27-515.29 requires one of: (1) isolation barrier 48 inches min with self-closing self-latching gate and latch 54+ inches above ground, (2) approved pool safety cover, (3) all doors/windows with direct access to pool equipped with exit alarms, (4) all doors with direct pool access equipped with self-closing self-latching devices with release 54+ inches. Orange County Building enforces at final inspection. Openings in barrier must not allow passage of 4-inch sphere.
Non-compliant barrier: certificate of occupancy withheld. Post-occupancy non-compliance: 2nd-degree misdemeanor under FL Β§515.29, up to $500 fine and 60 days jail.
