Doylestown Borough Ch. 23 (Swimming Pools) requires all private pools be enclosed by a fence minimum 4 ft high with max 9-inch openings. Vertical member spacing max 1-3/4 inches. Permits required for pool and fence. Strict compliance required before permit issuance.
Doylestown Borough Chapter 23 (Swimming Pools, Β§101-109) requires all private swimming pools to be completely enclosed by a fence of a minimum height of 4 feet with maximum openings of 9 inches. Spacing between vertical members shall not exceed 1-3/4 inches in width. Pool barrier requirements are strictly enforced β permits will not be issued if applications do not demonstrate strict compliance. A swimming pool is defined as any structure intended for recreational bathing or swimming containing water deeper than 24 inches, including in-ground pools, above-ground pools, hot tubs, spas, and inflatable pools. Both a pool permit and a separate fence permit are required. The PA UCC (34 Pa. Code Ch. 403) also mandates 48-inch pool barriers statewide.
Pool without compliant fence: permit denial or revocation. Fines per Borough code for non-compliance.
