Englewood requires private pools deeper than 18 inches to be enclosed by a fence or wall designed to prevent unauthorized access by children or trespassers.
Englewood Chapter 385 requires that any private pool with water more than 18 inches deep located less than 200 feet from the front property line must be completely enclosed by a fence or wall. If the pool sits 200 feet or more from the front line, the pool must either be fully enclosed or have a fence along all side and rear property lines. Fences must reasonably prevent persons from passing under, over, or through, and must include self-closing gates that can be locked when the pool is unguarded.
Installing a non-compliant fence, missing self-closing gates, or leaving gates unlocked when the pool is unguarded violates Chapter 385 and may revoke the pool permit.
