Greenville County has no bulk-item curbside pickup for the unincorporated area; residents self-haul large items to a staffed Residential Waste & Recycling Center or the Twin Chimneys Landfill. The county notes that 'S.C. Solid Waste Policy & Management Act of 1991 bans electronic waste, motor oil, yard waste, car batteries, white goods (appliances) and tires from the landfill. They are collected separately at Twin Chimneys and the Residential Waste & Recycling Facilities and recycled.' Self-haul disposal at residential centers is limited to three cubic yards per vehicle per day and is for residential waste only — no construction debris or business waste. Commercial haulers must use the Twin Chimneys Landfill.
Placing banned white goods, tires, or e-waste into the landfill's general waste is prohibited; construction debris and business waste are not accepted at residential centers. Contact Solid Waste at 864.243.9672.
