Place items curbside by 6 a.m. on the scheduled bulk day. Residents can also self-haul: at the North Central Transfer Station a discounted $10-per-load fee applies to yard waste, and the Northeast Landfill Customer Convenience Center (4001 Bannon Island Road, Haines City) accepts household waste, yard waste, bulk items, residential construction debris, tires and scrap metal with proof of Polk County residency. Household hazardous waste and appliances with Freon must be handled through designated landfill programs.
