Bulk items such as furniture, boxes, and mattresses require a scheduled pickup for a fee. Confirm a date with Solid Waste first. Collection is limited to one pickup per 30 days, four items or fewer, placed five feet from the curb.
Section 14-6 requires residents to contact the Solid Waste Department and confirm a pickup date before setting bulk refuse out; pickups are generally available with 48 hours' notice between January 9 and December 24. Items may not go out before 7 p.m. the night before or after 6 a.m. on collection day, and must sit on private property at least five feet from the curb. Limit one bulk collection per 30 days and four items or fewer. Appliances, air conditioners, batteries, tires, and construction debris are excluded (Sections 14-14, 14-15) and must be privately disposed of.
Placing bulk out without scheduling, or setting out excluded items, is punishable under Code Sec. 1-8.
