Sarasota County residents get bulk-waste collection limited to 20 cubic yards, four times per year; additional collections are supplemental service arranged with the franchised hauler for a fee (Sec. 106-47).
Under Sec. 106-47(a), Bulk Waste means large household items that do not fit a curbside container — furniture, mattresses, bathroom fixtures, fence panels, plywood, ladders, carpet, and similar. Included bulk collection is limited to 20 cubic yards, four times per year; anything beyond that is Supplemental Collection Service arranged directly with the Franchisee for an additional fee. Refrigerator and freezer doors must be removed before set-out. White Goods (major appliances) and E-Waste are handled separately. Bulk pickups are typically scheduled in advance through the county's solid waste program.
Excess or unscheduled bulk set-outs may be left uncollected; residents pay a supplemental fee for pickups beyond the four allowed collections.
