Polk County Solid Waste collects household trash and routine yard waste once a week on the same day for unincorporated homes. Collection runs Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and everything must be curbside by 6 a.m. on your collection day.
Polk County Solid Waste provides once-a-week residential collection in unincorporated areas, funded through an annual solid-waste assessment on the tax bill. Household waste and routine yard waste are collected on the same scheduled day. All residential curbside collection occurs Monday-Friday between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., so all household waste and routine yard waste should be placed curbside either the night before or by 6 a.m. on your collection day. Effective Oct. 1, service areas changed: FCC serves the western area, GFL the eastern area, and Polk County Solid Waste the southern area. Find your day on the service-days map or call (863) 284-4319.
Waste set out late or in the wrong container is not collected; carts left curbside after pickup can be cited by Code Enforcement.
