The Broome County Charter and Code puts yard waste in two separate buckets, and mixing them up is the mistake residents make most. First, curbside brush and leaf pickup is a town, city or village function: Binghamton, Johnson City, Endicott, Vestal, Union, Conklin, Chenango and Dickinson each run their own program or none at all, and the county sets no collection days. Mixed loads can be rejected or charged as a violation of Article I.
