Dallas collects brush and bagged yard trimmings monthly through its brush/bulky trash program, with weekly garbage day also accepting bagged leaves. Brush piles must be at the curb the Friday before pickup week. Christmas trees collected in early January.
Dallas Sanitation Services administers a monthly brush and bulky-trash collection program serving every single-family household. Each address has a designated pickup week posted on the Dallas Sanitation calendar. Yard waste β tree limbs, branches, brush, shrubs β may be set out as a loose pile at the curb starting the Friday before the scheduled pickup week, with crews arriving any time during that week. Piles may not exceed 10 feet long, 4 feet wide, and 4 feet high (about 10 cubic yards). Individual branches must be no longer than 8 feet and no thicker than 4 inches in diameter. Place piles in the parkway between sidewalk and curb, away from cars, fences, fire hydrants, mailboxes, and overhead wires. Bagged leaves, grass, and small trimmings may go out weekly with regular garbage in 30-gallon bags weighing no more than 35 pounds. Christmas trees are collected during the first two weeks of January through the regular brush program.
Oversized piles, items set out outside the designated window, or piles blocking sidewalks/streets are subject to administrative fees and citations from $50 up to $2,000 for illegal dumping under Dallas City Code Β§18-13.
