The City collects green waste biweekly in a dedicated green waste cart. Accepted: grass clippings, leaves, prunings under 2 feet long and 2 inches in diameter, and unflocked cut Christmas trees. Prohibited: trash, food waste, palm fronds, animal waste, lumber, cardboard, dirt, sod, rocks, treated/painted wood.
Per the City of Lincoln Public Works green waste page, the green waste cart accepts only: grass clippings; leaves; prunings less than 2 feet long and less than 2 inches in diameter; and Christmas trees that are unflocked and cut into pieces under 2 feet long and 2 inches in diameter. Prohibited items in the green waste cart include trash, food waste, palm fronds, animal waste, lumber, cardboard, dirt, sod, rocks, and treated or painted wood, wood chips, or tanbark. Collection is on a biweekly cycle using a two-zone (blue/yellow) schedule; residents check the interactive map for their week. Food scraps (which the cart prohibits) go in the separate 'One & Done Bin' organics program to comply with SB 1383 (PRC Β§42652.5). Contaminated green waste carts may be tagged and refused for collection; chronic contamination can result in service charges.
Contaminated green waste carts may be left uncollected and tagged. Repeated contamination can be billed through Utility Billing. Disposing of green waste in storm drains or vacant lots is illegal dumping under Cal. Penal Code Β§374.3 ($250β$1,000 first offense).
