Summary
Aurora, Illinois (Kane County) requires every cat four months or older to be registered with the city within 30 days of acquisition, with a license tag displayed on the collar at all times.
Every owner of a dog or cat within the city shall, within thirty (30) days of acquisition of such animal, register the animal or cause it to be registered for a license with the city by completing all necessary documentation and paying any required fees, and obtain a license tag as evidence of such registration. The city license will coincide with the rabies vaccine and city license renewal will occur at the time the rabies vaccination is due. License tags shall be displayed and/or attached to the collar of the registered animal at all times. All proceeds resulting from the imposition of the domestic animal license fee shall be used for the ongoing operation of the division. The director or his/her designee may impound any animal found to be in violation of this section. The owner is responsible for all fees related to the impoundment of the animal. (Ord.
