Annapolis requires dogs to be on leash in all public areas including waterfront parks, City Dock, and Truxtun Park. Dogs must be under the direct control of their owner at all times. Off-leash areas are limited.
Annapolis Code Title 8 requires dogs to be restrained by a leash when in public areas. Leashes must be no longer than 6 feet in most areas. Dogs are prohibited from running at large in city parks, along the City Dock waterfront, and on public streets without a leash. Truxtun Park requires dogs on leash except in any designated off-leash areas. Quiet Waters Park (an Anne Arundel County park within city limits) has a designated dog beach area that allows off-leash dogs seasonally. Owners must carry bags and clean up after their dogs.
