Full Breakdown
Yuba County Code § 8.05.310 bars any animal, livestock, or poultry from straying or running at large on public streets, public places, or private property belonging to others (open-range livestock excepted). Subsection (b) requires that, off the owner's property, a dog be restrained by a leash no longer than eight feet or kept under the owner's direct control and immediate presence. Female dogs in heat must be confined so they cannot contact another dog outside planned breeding. Any person may deliver an at-large animal to the Animal Care Officer for impoundment.
Violations & Fines
A violation of § 8.05.310 is an infraction; at-large animals may be impounded by the Animal Care Officer and held under the Chapter's impoundment and redemption procedures, with owners responsible for related fees.
