All dogs in unincorporated Palm Beach County must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet when off the owner's property. PBC Ordinance 98-22 (Chapter 4) requires restraint on all public property except designated dog parks.
PBC Animal Care and Control enforces Chapter 4. Off-leash violations carry escalating fines and apply on sidewalks, beaches, parks (except designated areas like Lake Ida Park dog park, Canine Cove in West Boynton, and Jupiter Farms Dog Park), and shopping centers. Voice control is not a defense. Dogs must wear a current rabies tag.
$50 first offense, $100 second, $250 third within 12 months. Bite incidents while off-leash trigger dangerous-dog investigation under FL Β§767.
