Orange County Code Chapter 5 requires all dogs to be on a leash no longer than 8 feet whenever off the owner's property. Off-leash activity is only permitted inside designated Orange County dog parks.
Running at large is prohibited countywide. Orange County Animal Services operates impoundment at 2769 Conroy Road. Rabies vaccination and county license are required for all dogs 4 months or older. Designated off-leash parks include Barber Park, Dr. Phillips Dog Park, and Meadow Woods. Leash violations in county parks result in immediate citation.
First offense: 100 dollars. Second: 250 dollars. Third and subsequent: 500 dollars plus impoundment fees of approximately 85 dollars plus 20 dollars per day.
