Showing ordinances that apply to La Riviera, CA
La Riviera is an unincorporated community (population 11,252) in Sacramento County, California. Because La Riviera is not an incorporated city, it does not have its own municipal code. Instead, Sacramento County ordinances apply directly to properties here. The wildlife feeding rules below are the ones that govern your area.
Sacramento County Code 9.60 prohibits feeding wild mammals including deer, raccoons, coyotes, and wild turkeys. Bird feeders are allowed if they do not attract mammals.
County Code 9.60 makes intentional feeding of non-domestic mammals a public nuisance. The ordinance targets suburban-wildlife conflicts in foothill areas (Fair Oaks, Orangevale, Wilton) and Delta communities where raccoons, coyotes, and wild turkeys have become habituated. Bird feeders are allowed provided they are positioned and maintained to avoid attracting mammals; spillage that draws rodents or raccoons can itself trigger enforcement. Feeding waterfowl along the American River Parkway is separately prohibited under Regional Parks rules.
First: written warning. Subsequent: 100 to 500 dollar administrative fines; nuisance abatement orders.
