Sidewalk & Mobile Vending

Boise caps street vending carts at 5 feet wide, 9 feet long, and 7 feet high, and requires functional brakes, propane-only generators, and inspection before carts operate on public sidewalks.

Vending Zones

Boise licenses vendors, solicitors and temporary merchants under BCC Title 3, Chapter 2, restricting mobile vending carts, trailers and vehicles from sidewalks, crosswalks, driveways and street corners unless positioned on a marked identified vending location downtown.

Food Truck Permits

Any food truck, cart or trailer selling food in Boise must hold a City Food and Beverage Establishment License before opening, the same license required of fixed restaurants. Vendors serving prepared food also need Central District Health documentation posted on site, and licenses run on an annual cycle set by the City Clerk.
