Brownsville's Sign Regulations: The Rules That Matter

Political Signs

Texas Election Code § 259.003 bars Brownsville from banning, permitting, charging for, or size-limiting a political sign on private property placed with the owner's consent. Brownsville's own sign code states it does not regulate political speech.

Garage Sale Signs

Brownsville allows one garage sale per property every three months, running no more than five consecutive days. Sale signs are treated as temporary ground signs: 8 square feet on a residential lot of an acre or less, and only on private property.
