Victorville's Trash & Recycling: The Rules That Matter

Illegal Dumping

Victorville treats illegal dumping as a nuisance under Municipal Code Section 13.05.010, and any vehicle used to dump waste matter on public or private property without the owner's consent can be seized and forfeited to the city. Victorville requires every single-family household to subscribe to organic waste collection and sort food scraps and yard trimmings into the green cart under Municipal Code Section 6.37.030, part of the city's SB 1383 compliance ordinance. Mixing recyclables, trash, and organics into the wrong container violates the chapter and can trigger a notice of violation.

Commercial and multifamily properties must otherwise use a permanent, masonry-walled waste enclosure reviewed by the Zoning Administrator.
