Building, moving or structurally altering a structure without the required permit, or occupying it before a certificate of occupancy issues, is a Section 1413.D misdemeanor, fined up to $50 per offense, with each day the unpermitted work or occupancy continues counted as a separate offense. Any permit issued in conflict with the resolution is automatically void, and the Director of Building & Codes investigates complaints describing an active violation no more than 30 days old.
