The Basic Zoning Ordinance's height rules apply to principal structures in most districts. Accessory-structure height is limited separately by district. The P-I, Q-1, M-1 and M-2 districts have their own height provisions. These figures govern only in consenting unincorporated towns; municipalities like Waukesha and Brookfield regulate height in their own codes.
Exceeding the maximum height is a zoning violation; the county may withhold permits or occupancy and require the structure be brought into compliance.
