Chapter 113, the 'Adult Entertainment Code,' applies to ten defined classifications, including adult bookstores, adult theaters, adult cabarets, adult arcades, adult motels, escort services, adult performance establishments and adult encounter centers, and Sec. 20 makes it a misdemeanor to operate any of them without a department-issued permit specific to that classification; only one classification may be permitted per location. The department can suspend a permit for building, fire, health or zoning violations, or after repeat criminal convictions at the establishment, and can revoke it outright after a second suspension, barring the permittee from a new permit for five years under Sec. 29.
