Shed & Carport Rules

Akron caps backyard sheds and other accessory structures at fifteen feet in height and requires at least three feet of clearance from a rear lot line and six feet from any other structure under § 153.260(E). Maximum floor area scales with lot size, from 576 square feet on small lots up to 900 square feet, and all accessory buildings together cannot cover more than 40 percent of the rear yard.
