Recycled Water Rules

Carlsbad Municipal Water District Code Chapter 3.08 requires new subdivisions, land use permits and qualifying remodels to hook up to recycled water whenever the District's Water Reclamation Master Plan designates the parcel within a recycled water service area. Existing potable customers can also be ordered to convert. Noncompliance is a misdemeanor with fines that climb to $1,000 per day.
