Columbia gives R-1 and R-2 subdivisions two density bonuses under Unified Development Code § 29-4.1(b). Align at least 75 percent of lots on blocks within 15 degrees of true east-west and the lot count rises 10 percent while minimum lot size and width drop 15 percent. Protect 50 percent of the parcel as permanent open space and the lot count rises another 10 percent. The two bonuses can be combined.
