In Haverford Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, Article V of Chapter 138 prohibits planting or growing bamboo. Running bamboo already growing when the ordinance took effect can remain, but never within 40 feet of the edge of the pavement or traveled portion of a public roadway, and it cannot be replanted or replaced in kind once it dies or is removed. Violations carry a fine of up to $600 plus costs.
