In the City of Palm Desert, California, a garage, yard or patio sale in a residential district needs a city permit and a $10 fee for each sale. Any permit is limited to seventy-two consecutive hours and two such special event sales in any calendar year, under Palm Desert Municipal Code § 5.82.040. Violations are infractions.
