Pet Limits

Jackson County's Zoning Ordinance does not cap pets by a flat household number; instead it defines a kennel as any establishment housing, grooming, breeding, boarding or training more than six dogs or domesticated animals over one year old for pay or sale. Cross that threshold for commercial purposes and the use becomes a kennel, which Table 5-2 permits only in the C-1 Neighborhood Commercial and I-3 Heavy Industrial districts, not in any residential or agricultural district.
