Erosion Control

Kent County requires a Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control (SESC) permit before any earth change that disturbs one acre or more, or that falls within 500 feet of a lake or stream's edge. The Kent County Road Commission, acting as County Enforcing Agency, must decide applications within 30 days and can fine violators up to $25,000 per day for continued noncompliance.
