Lexington County Code § 14-142(c) requires new residential subdivisions to survey for 'trophy trees' before design and to protect at least 25 percent of the trophy trees found on site. Removed trophy trees trigger the mitigation measures cross-referenced in Sec. 14-131(3)e, and mitigation plantings must sit in the subdivision's common areas, not on individual lots.
