Rental Registration
Unincorporated Merced County requires every hotel and short-term rental operator to register with the Community and Economic Development Department before opening for business, obtain a Transient Occupancy Registration Certificate, and post it on the premises. Registration must happen within 30 days of starting business, and short-term rentals need a separate zoning administrative permit under Section 18.60.270.
