Sussex County's Housing Code sets the minimum conditions a residential building and its premises must meet before an owner may occupy it or let it to a tenant. Article II of Chapter 71 bars renting out a dwelling that fails these standards, and the Code Official can order periodic inspections whenever a deviation threatens occupants' health, safety or welfare.
