Pool Permits
Tazewell County requires every swimming pool in the unincorporated area to meet its accessory-structure zoning setback and to be built to the 2018 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code, adopted by reference under § 154.145. The county's permit fee schedule charges $100 for an above-ground pool and $175 for an in-ground pool.

General provisions. All swimming pools shall adhere to the accessory structure setback of the zoning district in which it is being placed. In addition, all pools shall be constructed or installed in accordance with the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code, adopted by reference and as amended in the Tazewell County Building and Property Maintenance Code, Chapter 154.
