Summary
Will County bars anyone under 17 from public places overnight: 10 p.m.-6 a.m. for under-16s, 11 p.m.-6 a.m. for 16- and 17-year-olds, enforced countywide by the Sheriff's Office.
It is unlawful for a person less than 17 years of age to be present at or upon any public assembly, building, business, street, highway, or other public place or way at the following times. (1) For persons less than 16 years of age, between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. the following day on any day of the week. (2) For persons at least 16 years of age, but not yet 17 years of age, between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. the following day on any day of the week.

Will County Code § 130.01 makes it unlawful for anyone under 17 to be in a public assembly, building, business, street, highway or other public place during curfew hours: 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. for minors under 16, and 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. for 16- and 17-year-olds, every day of the week. Recognized defenses include being accompanied by a parent, guardian, adult sibling, or an approved adult 21 or older; standing on the sidewalk outside the minor's own or a non-complaining neighbor's residence; and traveling directly to or from work, school activities, religious events, emergencies or First Amendment activity. Section 130.02 makes a parent or guardian who knowingly permits the violation liable too.
