Rapides Parish, LA Curfew Laws: Juvenile Curfew (2026)

on Friday and Saturday nights, per § 19-65. Under § 19-66, a minor commits an offense by remaining in a public place or on the premises of an establishment within the Parish of Rapides outside the boundary of any incorporated municipality during those hours, or by traveling a public thoroughfare, street or sidewalk during curfew hours. A parent or guardian who knowingly permits, or by insufficient control allows, a minor to remain out during curfew commits a separate offense, as does an establishment's owner, operator or employee who knowingly allows a minor to stay on the premises.

Section 19-67 lists defenses, including that the minor was accompanied by a parent or guardian, was on an errand at a parent's direction, was traveling interstate, was coming from work, faced an emergency, was on the sidewalk in front of home or a cooperating neighbor's home, or was going to or from a supervised school, religious or recreational activity. Section 19-68 requires an officer to ask the apparent offender's age and reason for being out before citing or arresting, and lets the officer instead issue a citation under Louisiana's FINS Act.

Because the offense provision limits itself to areas outside the boundary of any incorporated municipality, the curfew applies only in unincorporated Rapides Parish; Alexandria, Pineville and the parish's other incorporated towns set their own curfews.
