Fort Bend County enforces a juvenile curfew in unincorporated areas restricting minors under 17 from public places during late night and school day hours.
Adopted by Commissioners Court under Texas Local Government Code Section 351.903, the Fort Bend County juvenile curfew applies to persons under 17 in unincorporated areas. Nighttime curfew typically runs from 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM Sunday through Thursday and midnight to 6:00 AM Friday and Saturday. A daytime curfew applies on school days from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Standard exceptions cover travel with parents, work, school, religious activities, errands directed by guardians, and First Amendment activity. The order is reviewed every three years by Commissioners Court.
Curfew violation is a Class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine up to $500. Parents who knowingly permit violations may also be cited.
