Virginia Beach's curfew under Β§23-2 prohibits unaccompanied minors under 18 from public places during curfew hours: 11 PM to 5 AM Sunday through Thursday, and midnight to 5 AM Friday and Saturday. Exceptions include minors accompanied by a parent, traveling to/from work, in an emergency, or attending supervised activities. The curfew is strictly enforced during the resort season and spring break. Parents who knowingly allow violations may be cited.
Curfew violations may result in fines for both minors and parents. Minors may be detained and released to parents. Repeat violations may result in referral to juvenile court.
